Small Vancouver apartment with optimized space use
My biggest aha moment in this apartment was the clever construction of the stairs to the bedroom. By constructing them like something you would find in an amusement park, they take up as little horizontal space as a ladder, while still having the depth of normal stair steps. As usual, I like the choice of white walls and ceiling. With a space that long and narrow, darker walls would have made most of it feel very dark. The hidden door to the sleeping loft also was a good design feature. It’s 48 ㎥ floor space in total. I think they have utilized it well.

I am in love with their lighting fixture in the kitchen/dining area. Although, I think the sleeping space is too confined for me on a permanent basis.

I do think I would find it quite weird to sit at a desk next to what is essentially a hallway for the front door!
I do agree about the stairs, though, a very clever way of doing it!
